Miriam Besa, a name that resonates with the vibrant hues of culture and the subtleties of the everyday, is a painter whose work is a celebration of diversity and the beauty found in the ordinary. With a profound connection to nature and a spiritual approach to creation, Besa’s art transcends the canvas, inviting viewers to explore new perspectives and emotions.

Besa’s artistic journey is a fusion of her illustrative instincts, honed through years of experience in Graphic Design, and her modern stylistic technique. This amalgamation allows her to delve into the realm of painting with a sense of self-fulfillment. Her unique style, coupled with a deep love for color, grants her the freedom to create with joy, infusing motion and emotion into each piece.

“I want them to experience something new that they have not noticed in the past,” says Besa, emphasizing her mission to transport viewers to a different state of mind. Through her paintings, she aims to convey a message of healing energy and hope, a testament to the transformative power of art.

Besa’s list of achievements speaks volumes about the impact of her work on the art community. In the 2022 International Juried Art Competition, she clinched the Finalist Award in Water, showcasing her prowess in capturing the fluidity and essence of this element. The 12th Landscapes Art Competition in September 2022 saw her receive a Special Recognition Award for “A Tulips Village, Amsterdam,” an acknowledgment of her ability to breathe life into landscapes.

The Summer 555 Art Competition and Exhibition of the same year brought more accolades, with Special Merit Awards for “Sheltered Gondolas” and “Done for the Night.” Besa’s art found recognition in the 100 Artworks of the Earth 2022 event, where pieces like “Done for the Night,” “Waterlilies at Dusk,” and “Sunrise at the Grand Canal, Venice” stood out.

Her artistic journey extends back to the 11th Open Art Competition in July 2021, sponsored by Light Space and Time Global Competition. Besa received an Honorable Mention for “Bike Stop, Amsterdam,” a testament to her consistent ability to captivate audiences. The Waters Competition in November 2021, sponsored by Art Room Gallery, brought another Honorable Mention for “Waterlilies at Dusk.”

The recognition continued with Fineartamerica.com awarding Besa’s “Banana Lakatan” as Editor’s Pick for the month in 2021.

Besa’s artistic journey is not merely a collection of accolades; it is a narrative that weaves together her inspirations and the essence of her creations. In her own words, “My style and my love of color give me a sense of freedom and joy in creating,” reflecting the passion that fuels her artistic endeavors.

One remarkable piece in her portfolio is “Two Thoroughly Modern Women,” a homage to Paul Gauguin’s “Two Tahitian Women.” Besa adds her unique perspective to this iconic work, capturing the shameless innocence of two young women offering cherries and cherry blossoms. Through symbolism reminiscent of Gauguin’s period, she infuses the painting with the sweetness of paradise, embodying growth and new beginnings.

Miriam Besa’s art is a journey through culture, a celebration of diversity, and an ode to the everyday. Her paintings transcend the ordinary, inviting viewers to experience the profound connection she shares with nature and spirituality.
