Jennifer (Satterly) Day was born in Naples, Italy, to two military parents in 1983. She currently resides in Sarasota, Florida. Her gift and passion for creating emerged at the young age of 8 when she started drawing in an 8 ½ x 11 spiral notebook. Since then, she has explored various forms of creating. Her artwork has been featured at The Funguary Fungi Inspired Art Show in St. Pete, FL, in February 2023. She will be displayed in an upcoming exhibit titled “Flora & Fauna” at the Sarasota Art Center this coming fall.

Jennifer Day’s journey as an artist began with simple drawings in her childhood notebook, but her path has since evolved into a rich tapestry of creative expression. Her early fascination with capturing the world around her led to a lifelong passion for art. Jennifer’s work spans multiple mediums, reflecting her exploration and growth as an artist. From intricate sketches to vibrant paintings, her portfolio showcases a diverse range of styles and themes.

In February 2023, Jennifer’s work was featured at The Funguary Fungi Inspired Art Show in St. Pete, Florida. This exhibition highlighted her ability to draw inspiration from nature and transform it into captivating visual narratives. Her pieces stood out for their intricate details and the way they conveyed the delicate beauty and mystery of fungi.

One of Jennifer’s pieces is titled “Dancing in the Ring of Fire.” This 12” x 16” acrylic on canvas original is a testament to her ability to convey complex emotions through her art. Jennifer describes the inspiration behind this piece as a mix of love, sadness, and the struggle between right and wrong. In a world that often feels automatic and detached, Jennifer’s work serves as a reminder of the importance of feeling and experiencing emotions.

“In this particular piece, I felt inspired to dance and paint the emotions I was feeling at the time. Love, sadness, and being torn between right and wrong,” Jennifer explains. “In today’s world, everything is so automatic. I feel as if people are becoming numb to emotions. Text this, swipe that. Like, comment, and subscribe. This piece is a symbol of hope to inspire those to feel again, no matter what the emotion is.”

“Dancing in the Ring of Fire” captures a dynamic and emotional moment, with bold brushstrokes and vivid colors that draw the viewer into the experience. The painting’s energy is palpable, and it invites viewers to reflect on their own emotions and the ways in which they connect with the world around them.

Jennifer’s work is characterized by its emotional depth and its ability to resonate with viewers on a personal level. Her pieces often explore themes of connection, emotion, and the human condition. Through her art, Jennifer seeks to create a dialogue with her audience, inviting them to explore their own feelings and experiences.

As Jennifer continues to grow and progress as an artist, her work will undoubtedly continue to inspire and move those who encounter it. Her journey from a young girl drawing in a notebook to a featured artist in exhibitions is a testament to her dedication and passion for her craft. With each piece she creates, Jennifer brings a piece of her soul to the canvas, offering viewers a glimpse into her world and encouraging them to connect with their own emotions.

In a world that often feels detached and automated, Jennifer Day’s art serves as a reminder of the importance of feeling and experiencing the full range of human emotions.
