Cheryl Crane-Hunter is a multifaceted artist whose work not only captivates the eye but also speaks to the soul. With a background in art education and a passion for nature, Cheryl’s creations are meditative moments of peace, infused with symbolism and a deeper connection to the world around us.

One glance at Cheryl’s artwork, and it’s evident that nature plays a central role in her inspiration. From the gentle sway of trees to the tranquil depths of the ocean, her pieces reflect the beauty and serenity found in the natural world. But Cheryl’s art is more than just a reflection of nature; it’s a testament to the healing power it holds.

As a breast cancer survivor, Cheryl knows firsthand the transformative effect of nature’s healing energy. Her artwork titled “Moon Spirit Healing” is a poignant example of this. In this piece, Cheryl captures a meditative moment of spirit, light, and nature, drawing on her own experiences of finding solace and healing in the embrace of the ocean and the moon. Using a monochromatic palette of black and white, Cheryl creates a sharp contrast of brushstrokes that mirror the interplay of light and shadow, spirit and nature.

But Cheryl’s talents extend beyond the canvas. Recognizing the therapeutic value of art, she founded LLC Paint With Me Cheryl Crane, through which she offers art talks and workshops in various media for senior adults and her community. Through these workshops, Cheryl not only shares her artistic gifts but also provides a space for others to explore their creativity and find moments of peace and expression.

Cheryl’s dedication to her craft has been recognized through various exhibitions, including the International Show “Hope” and being named the Surf City Community Center’s Artist of the Month in May 2024. Her work has graced the walls of esteemed institutions such as ILM, Art Works, Coastal Carolina Community College, VCU Thesis Show “Hope, Faith, and Love,” Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts, and Morehead State University.

Beyond the accolades and exhibitions, Cheryl’s art serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things. Each brushstroke, each symbol, carries with it a message of hope, healing, and renewal. It invites viewers to pause, to reflect, and to find moments of peace amidst the chaos of life.

For Cheryl, art is more than just a vocation—it’s a calling, a way of sharing her gifts with the world and spreading light wherever she goes. Through her work, she reminds us of the beauty that surrounds us and the healing power that resides within us all.
